Paul Chen Oni Katana high carbon steel blade Black rayskin handle PC. The heavily carved and detailed tsuba koiguchi (hand guard) and fuchi/kashira (hand piece) are fashioned after the black iron Oni themed tsuba and kurikata of the Performance series and are decorated with a black dragon. The tsuka is wrapped in a black rayskin surrounded by a black silk taisho and the fittings are all of superior quality and fit for the most demanding of connoisseurs. A performance series katana the Oni features the same geometry and fittings as the Chuchu Shinogi and Shinogi Ha and features a black-lacquered saya with a gloss carved section. The long slender tang is crafted from black-lacquered iron with an ornately decorated exterior. The long tang is heavily differentially-tempered for strength with multiple iron "feet" engraved on the surface. Paired with high-quality black silk on the tsuka and wrapped in black silk the tsuka is wrapped in a matching black rayskin over two rod-wrapped black-lacquered kashira the Oni looks and feels exceptional in hand. A highly-detailed and finely-shaped tsuba carries the Oni's name in kanji (signifying "Sword of the Dragon") accompanied by a black cotton sash (with integral handguard).
