The most dramatic feature of the Titanium/Damascus Delica is its breathtaking Damascus-clad blade. Known as D.P.S. 15 the blade material is produced by Takefu Special Steel Company Ltd. in Japan. It consists of a VG-10 stainless steel core sandwiched between two outer layers of Damascus steel. Each of the Damascus layers is composed of 15 layers of forge-welded steel beautifully patterned and etched to reveal the detail of the structure. The finished blade which is meticulously flat ground for superior edge geometry features a total of 31 layers of steel and offers an exceptional blend of strength cutting performance and beauty. To complement the dramatic blade of this Delica the handle is precision machined from solid 6AL-4V titanium. This state-of-the-art material is prized for its light weight extreme toughness and superior strength. The titanium scales are precision machined and bead blasted to a handsome grey finish. They are supported by a stainless steel back spacer and mated to the blade by a high-strength back lock mechanism. All components are assembled with precision stainless steel Torx hardware and meticulously hand finished.
