Aero Precision M5 Enhanced Gen 2 16.6 M-LOK Features Engineered for demanding shooters the Gen 2 model includes a number of upgraded features over its predecessor. Notably it introduces integrated quick-disconnect (QD) sling sockets positioned at the 3 6 and 9 o'clock positions enabling flexible sling placement without the need for additional QD attachments. Additional cosmetic and functional milling has been added along the flats for enhanced grip texture and visual appeal offering both form and function. Built-in anti-rotation tabs ensure a stable non-shifting installation once properly secured to the upper receiver. A key highlight of the M5 Enhanced handguard is its compatibility with suppressors and large muzzle devices. The 1.72 internal diameter accommodates suppressors up to 1.5 in diameter making it an excellent choice for modern .308 rifles or precision rigs that run over-barrel suppressors or compensators. The internal barrel nut cut diameter at the rear expands to 1.78 ensuring clearance for DPMS-style barrel nuts. Although a barrel nut is not included it is available separately under SKU 100-035-811 and is required for installation. Optimized for Aero's M5E1 Enhanced Upper Receivers this handguard seamlessly integrates with the proprietary interface for a rock-solid barrel nut-free lockup system.
