There are many uses for the AimShot HeatSeeker: Locating lost children pets livestock Find injured hiding or downed game Detect thermal losses in a home or business Detect hot spots in equipment Ensure safer building searches for military and law enforcement Detect overheated ballast transformers for fire prevention Almost anything that requires the detection of heat or differences in heat levels. Technology for the hunt security or law enforcement Heatseeker works by detecting heat sources and motion of heat to help find game and bad guys. Temperatures are read as infrared light waves which appear on the digital bar graph display. A "squelch" alert can also be heard through the ear plug. Detects objects as close as 2' and can reach as far as 900' under optimum conditions Great for scanning woods tracking wounded animals or personal security. Technology for the hunt security search and rescue and law enforcement. The HeatSeeker works by detecting heat sources from the background to help you find lost game. Differences in temperature (heat) are displayed on the LED bar graph and the unit has adjustable gain to match your background temperatures. You can use the LEDs to visually see a difference in temperatures or the included ear bud/speaker will help you to keep an eye on the area you are searching while listening for the signals. There is also an included red laser that allows you to visually identify exactly where the HeatSeeker is pointed to further pin point areas of interest. Ideally suited for finding injured or down game quickly it has many uses for law enforcement search and rescue or even detecting thermal losses in buildings and equipment. In the front the HeatSeeker has a sensor/receptor that detects a temperature differential- basically a metal detector for heat. Or more accurately it detects the differences in heat. It functions by waving the HeatSeeker back and forth and the sensor reads the heat of an area and compares it to what was previously sensed. If there is a difference in termperature the LED will light up. The bigger difference the more LED's light up. It can be used for finding game that has been shot search and rescue looking for heat losses in a building clearing a building (police/security) etc. With the HeatSeeker there is no active detection or emission it works on sensing temperature changes. For optimal operation the greater the difference in temperature (i.e. hunting on a cold day looking for a warm deer) the further away it is able to pick up a heat source.
