Much like a traditional sling the body loop of the Cybergun Viper Sling stays secured to a single mounting point a single point on the weapon where the sling attaches to the body but this time there is no need for the sling to stay connected to the weapon at all. The male portion of the side release buckle stays attached to the weapon at all times so the operator can engage or disengage the sling from the side release buckle at any time. The key difference is the addition of shock cording housed in tubular webbing on each end of the sling. This allows the operator to quickly and efficiently lock the weapon onto the sling without having to remove the sling from the weapon first. And with the sling being able to function in two different ways the versatility and safety of the Cybergun Viper Sling outperforms its predecessor. The primary function of the sling is as always to support the weight of your weapon across your shoulder. The first method - the traditional knot - is still valid - but with the addition of the shock cording there is no longer any need to grip the sling to make that happen. The second method is the use of a second shock cord on each end of the sling. This provides the sling with an added degree of versatility and safety. The second method is the use of a side release buckle assembly that is intended to stay attached to the weapon at all times. The male portion of the side release buckle is intended to stay attached to the weapon at all times. With the female portion of the side release buckle attached to the sling the female portion of the sling is permanently attached the sling itself. The difference is that the female portion is designed to stay attached to the sling at all times. With the male portion of the side release buckle on the male side of the Viper Sling the loop stays secured to the operator's body at all times.
