Like its predecessor, the MR556 is built atop a short-stroke gas piston operating system that runs cooler and cleaner than traditional direct-impingement systems found in most AR-15s. Gas piston systems require less maintenance and run longer with less wear on internal components. The adjustable gas regulator allows you to tune the action for suppressed or unsuppressed operation. The MR556 features fully ambidextrous controls, so it's easy to operate for both right- and left-handed shooters.
