Morakniv Knife Blade Classic NO.2 4.13" Drop Point Carbon Steel Blade

The polished knife blade is made from German carbon steel, C100S - a high-quality knife steel from the steel producer. Combined with expertise in hardening and metallurgical knowledge, results in a blade with a balanced combination of hardness, toughness, and edge retention. Please note that carbon steel is prone to rust, so it's best to wipe and oil the knife blade after use. The knife blade undergoes a rigorous manufacturing process that has been refined over 130 years at the knife factory in Mora. Morakniv's goal is to achieve the ideal balance between optimal sharpness and edge retention. The knife blade is heat-treated by first being heated to over seven hundred degrees, then rapidly cooled to room temperature in a very short time. Finally, the knife blade is tempered at several hundred degrees to maximize the steel's performance. After this heat treatment, the knife blade achieves a hardness of 58.5 HRC.
