POF-USA Premium AR Barrels are constructed from mil-spec 4150 chrome vanadium steel and feature 5R rifling. Similarly, all barrels are nitride heat treated to increases surface hardness and corrosion resistance. M4 feed ramp barrel extensions ensure these barrels feed reliably. As a result of the Patented EA^2 extraction technology, you can expect extractor life to drastically increase. The EA^2 dual extraction consists of 4 small channels cut into the walls of the chamber, allowing a small amount of gas pressure to flow backwards and push on the shoulders of the spent casing. This small pressure helps "un-seat" the spent case from the chamber while slightly pushing backwards as the extractor is pulling the case rearward. With this feature, the extractor is no longer doing all the work by itself; therefore the life of the extractor and overall reliability of the rifle system is increased.
