The AK Widow's 12 o'clock prong in particular allows gas to escape earlier than the bottom two prongs which ultimately help to mitigate and control muzzle rise. This three prong system especially helps to suppress the flash signature from firing and is not as loud compared to when using a compensator or muzzle brake. The muzzle device includes a notch for the 12 o'clock detent on AK47 and AKM's to secure the AK Widow at the correctly timed position.
