Once it is in place, it will not come out.The blade is made from 1095 high carbon steel. It is going to help a sharp edge, take a beating, and be easy for you to sharpen. The blade is treated with an acid etch and then rock tumbled. This provides a level of protection from rust and gives the blade a darkened and weathered look.The MK2 has been extensively tested, to include live tissue testing.
